Who is Nancy Pelosi? What does Progressive Democrat mean? Watch Obama, Hillary and Pelosi smile and talk with Ortega and Chavez, fellow socialists

OBEY OBAMA

OBEY OBAMA

You won’t see the mainstream media reporting who Nancy Pelosi is.

Citizens: Print,  clip and save this free Obey Obama poster (Void where prohibited by law).

By Mick Gregory

I know quite a bit about her, having lived and worked in her San Francisco district. You won’t see the San Francisco Chronicle or New York Times mentioning that she is a multi-millionaire from earnings on her non-union Napa Valley winerey and resort hotel. Yet, the soon-to-be-crowned Speaker, gets one of the largest shares of union campaign money.

Your 68-year-old grandmother hasn’t spent as much on her home as 68-year-old Nancy Pelosi has on facelifts.
Democrats are America’s neo-progressives, better known as socialists. I lived in Nancy Peloci’s San Francisco, where transsexuals are given special status along with all the other classes of minorities and the city is a “sactuary city” for illegals.

Do you think I am exagerating? Progressive Democrats are America’s Democrat/Socialists — Google it for yourself. Why doesn’t the LA Times with it’s 950-person newsroom devote an afternoon of a reporter’s time to check into this?

Socialism in America is growing. Aided by such influential Congressmen as John Conyers, Ranking Member of the House Judicial Committee, and the one who will start impeachment proceedings against George Bush in the coming months. Nancy Pelosi is one of the stars of the nearly 60 other Democrats advancing socialism in America behind the “Progressive” label.

Here are a few excerpts taken directly from the web page of the Democratic Socialists of America.

“The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is the largest socialist organization in the United States, and the principal U.S. affiliate of the Socialist International. DSA’s members are building progressive movements for social change while establishing an openly socialist presence in American communities and politics.

“At the root of our socialism is a profound commitment to democracy, as means and end. We are activists committed not only to extending political democracy but to demanding democratic empowerment in the economy, in gender relations, and in culture. Democracy is not simply one of our political values but our means of restructuring society. Our vision is of a society in which people have a real voice in the choices and relationships that affect the entirety of our lives. We call this vision democratic socialism – a vision of a more free, democratic and humane society.

0. We are socialists because we reject an international economic order sustained by private profit, alienated labor, race and gender discrimination, environmental destruction, and brutality and violence in defense of the status quo.
0. We are socialists because we share a vision of a humane international social order based both on democratic planning and market mechanisms to achieve equitable distribution of resources, meaningful work, a healthy environment, sustainable growth, gender and racial equality, and non-oppressive relationships.”
Here is what “Liberty” looks like to a socialist:
“A democratic commitment to a vibrant pluralist life assumes the need for a democratic, responsive, and representative government to regulate the market, protect the environment, and ensure a basic level of equality and equity for each citizen. In the 21st century, such regulation will increasingly occur through international, multilateral action. But while a democratic state can protect individuals from domination by inordinately powerful, undemocratic transnational corporations, people develop the social bonds that render life meaningful only through cooperative, voluntary relationships. Promoting such bonds is the responsibility of socialists and the government alike.
“The social welfare programs of government have been for the most part positive, if partial, responses to the genuine social needs of the great majority of Americans. The dismantling of such programs by conservative and corporate elites in the absence of any alternatives will be disastrous. Abandoning schools, health care, and housing, for example, to the control of an unregulated free market magnifies the existing harsh realities of inequality and injustice.”
The action agenda posted on the socialists’ web site very closely parallels Agenda 21, and the recommendations of the President’s Council on Sustainable Development. The web site boasts the creation of the “Progressive Caucus” in Congress, as well as the coalition that is working to promote the socialist agenda in Congress.

Now you know that the third person in line for the Presidency is a socialist.

Secret Service, please make sure that President Bush and Dick Chaney are not ever again with in a mile of each other for the next two years.

Imagine this, the Democrats impeach George Bush for invading Iraq, Dick Cheney becomes president, he dies of a heart attack within weeks because of his spike in blood pressure. Nancy Pelosi becomes the first women President of the United States, and another first of much more import, America’s first Progressive Democrat president.

Dems to ban modern firearms, labeling them assault weapons?

This is the big one. Hillary is discussing how the Mexican border is our problem because so called “assault weapons” are flowing from the USA to Mexican drug lords.

Funny, I call them home defense weapons.

Here comes the government gun grab, take away Americans’ Second Amendment rights to own firearms and protect their family’s lives and do it for Mexico? How gullible do they think we are?

We all know that the Mexican drug gangs have military, fully automatic weapons from China and Eastern Europe and are exporting tons of drugs and scores of people every day over our borders. Why would banning modern home defense firearms from Americans stop or even slow the drug violence and human trafficing?

It’s “new speak” coming from the Obama/Orwellian Big Brother/Big Sis government.

The progressive Democrats are going to ignore a major tenant of the Constitution out of fear, I believe of a civilian backlash.

Tip of the day: Buy guns and bullets. They are the new gold.

The Obama administration didn’t waste more than a month to seek to reinstate “the assault weapons ban” (really the modern home defence firearm band) that expired in 2004 during the Bush administration, Attorney General Eric Holder said today.

(AP Photos/ABC News Graphic )

“As President Obama indicated during his campaign, there are just a few gun-related changes that we would like to make, and among them would be to reinstitute the ban on the sale of assault weapons,” Holder told reporters.

Holder said that putting the ban back in place would not only be a positive move by the United States, it would help cut down on the flow of guns going across the border into Mexico, which is struggling with heavy violence among drug cartels along the border.

Really, why can’t we stop the flow of humans and drugs along the border?

“I think that will have a positive impact in Mexico, at a minimum.” Holder said at a news conference on the arrest of more than 700 people in a drug enforcement crackdown on Mexican drug cartels operating in the U.S.

How are Americans to defend themselves, with only 150-year old gun technology against Mexican drug runners and a well armed new U.S. socialist police state?

Imagine the government making a law that kept new computer or cell phone technology from the public?

Which country’s citizens is Obama concerned about?

More Layoffs at the Denver Post

Updated Feb 26:

Note to “journalists:”  Your socialist views promoted Obama and the Democrat Party take over of Colorado. Businesses small and large are the enemy of Democrats. They were your advertisers. Does Big Brother spend advertising in your newspaper?

The Denver Post announced the layoffs of six newsroom managers Wednesday as part of a cost-cutting effort. Big deal, you think? After hundreds have been “let go” over the past two years? Yes. It is big for them.

Dismissed, effective Friday, were Gary Clark, managing editor of news; Mark Cardwell, managing editor of online news; Erik Strom, assistant managing editor of technology; Ingrid Muller, creative director; Cynthia Pasquale, assistant city editor; and Stephen Keating, online special- projects editor. Keating will continue to work on a project for Post owner MediaNews Group.

The layoffs come as dozens of newspapers across the country are cutting staffs and budgets to deal with steep declines in advertising and circulation.

“These departures were forced by budget cuts I have to make,” Post editor Greg Moore said in a memo to staffers. “I think you all know the financial challenges facing this industry and this newspaper.”

MediaNews Group is negotiating with union-covered Post employees for $2 million in wage and benefit concessions.

Rocky Mountain News owner E.W. Scripps has put that newspaper up for sale, and may close it, because of mounting financial losses.

Scripps imposed companywide pay and benefit cuts Wednesday at its newspapers and television stations, although the Rocky Mountain News reported that the cuts will not apply to the News.

The reductions, announced in an e-mail from Scripps chief executive Rich Boehne, were reported in several Scripps newspapers. Scripps declined to publicly release what it described as an “internal employee memo.”

I wrote about Times Mirror pulling the plug on The Denver Post, Dallas Times-Herald, and Houston Post, some 13 years ago, next they sold the family jewels, the rest of Times Mirror to the Tribune Co., and we all know about Zell’s offer to take the company private.

This is what is in store for all the former Times Mirror papers:

Layoffs, cuts to the bone.

Memo from Denver Post editor Greg Moore

To The Staff:

On Monday, April 23, in the auditorium on the first floor, we will have two very important staff meetings. I don’t think there is any secret that our newspaper and others have been facing some challenging times.

Even though just a year ago we went through buyouts in an effort to reduce costs, the financial situation facing the paper and the Denver Newspaper Agency requires additional measures be taken. At meetings at 11 a.m. and again at 4 p.m., we will explain details of another round of buyouts in an effort to cut expenses without having to do layoffs. These buyouts will be offered to Guild and exempt employees. I really hope we are able to achieve the savings we need and every effort has been made to construct an offer that will help us get there. The meetings will give us a chance to share details of the offers with you and answer questions. I know this is tough and introduces more anxiety in already difficult times. But we will get through it.

See you then,

Greg

Singleton should be praised for saving the Denver Post. It very easily could have been the Post shutting down today instead of the weird, tabloid Rocky Mountain News.

The real Nancy Pelosi — multi-millionaire, resort, dining and winery baroness who profits from non-union and illegal labor. Now she pushes more taxes on U.S. oil companies — not OPEC oil producers.

UPDATE
By Mick Gregory

UPDATE: Sept. 21, 2008; House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senator John Kerry and more than 50 other members of Congress, Bloomberg reports.

Pelosi, in her most recent financial disclosure form, reported that her husband owned between $250,000 and $500,000 of stock in AIG, which ceded majority control to the U.S. government this week in exchange for $85 billion of loans.

Kerry, the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee, disclosed that his wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry, had more than $2 million of AIG stock at the end of 2007, when shares were worth $58.30. AIG has fallen 85 percent this week to close yesterday at $2.69. The lawmakers’ aides didn’t respond to calls seeking comment.

Did you know that the Obama family had their own private chef for years? Journalists didn’t bother to report that at any time during the past two years. Do you wonder why?

Sam Kass, who cooked for the Obamas in Chicago will now move onto the government payroll as a White House chef. (Ever wary of annoying the feminist base, the Obamas are not firing the very first woman to hold the Chief Chef job, chosen by Laura Bush. They’re just pushing her out of the way.)

Who knew? I believed all that stuff about how Michelle was an overburdened modern working mother, rushing from school dropoff to her high-paying, demanding work at the hospital, to dress fittings, to whatever it was she needed to do to support her husband’s political aspirations, back home to take care of her daughters. Call me naive, but that model usually includes making dinner. And squeezing in a weekly grocery shopping trip. Especially for those fresh, whole foods that don’t keep so long. Now I have to wonder who did the laundry, and the vaccuuming. Sure, granny helped—but I doubt she was the maid. Who was?

In fact, I don’t actually care who did the cooking (or cleaning) in the Obama household. And Chef Sam is fine with me. The orchestrated deception—the pretense that this family did it all themselves, living a low-key life just like most upper middle class Americans, working hard and taking care of the necessary, sometimes tedious requirements of home life as well as they seemed to have done—is a little more troubling. To be sure, a University of Chicago-educated private chef seems a little more indulgent than a nanny who broils the chicken or chops up the broccoli. But that’s their call.

Didn’t the women at Slate, among others, complain that there was something offensive about Sarah Palin’s apparent ability to raise 5 children, run the state of Alaska, run marathons, and cook those mooseburgers—because it set the bar too high for ordinary women? But they were willing to believe that Michelle could do it all, and keep it all organic and healthy at that—because she has a law degree from Harvard?

This is one of the great gifts that comes with being a Democrat who is so beloved of the media. Instead of the inevitable carping and cries of hypocrisy and elitism, the New York Times food writer just gushes at what a master stroke this appointment is—bringing sustainable food to the White House and inevitable gardens to the grounds.

When you run for president as a community organizer, and a writer, or even a professor of constitutional law, perhaps it’s politic to hide a few salient details about your actual lifestyle that might mess up the “savior of the downtrodden” narrative. It’s important to keep up the fiction that only spoiled, indifferent, wealthy Republicans have personal servants. — Lisa Schiffren

Did you know? CNN’s Democrat cheerleader Anderson Cooper is the son of billionaire heiress Gloria Vanderbilt.

This new tax on oil is not unlike Chavez taking over control of private industries. Even liberal Californians voted down an identical energy tax just last November. So what does Pelosi do? She pushes through a more expensive energy tax in the first 100 hours without debate. This is similar to Hugo Chavez’s progressive politics. You think? What’s the difference?
The millions of dollars that Democrat supporters spent to pass Proposition 87 to promote an increase in the extraction tax on crude pumped from California oil wells wasn’t enough to win over the state’s voters last November.

The hotly contested ballot measure, which proposed to impose a new tax on oil production to fund a range of alternative energy programs, was backed by 45% of the voters, while 55% opposed it, according official returns.

Opponents of the initiative campaigned heavily, arguing the tax would be borne by consumers, who would end up paying even more at the pump.

The proposed Clean Alternative Energy Act sought to raise $4 billion over 10 years through an oil-extraction tax. The funds would be used to sponsor research and projects in alternative energy, including ethanol, solar and wind power.
The initiative, which sought to cut the use of petroleum by 25% over the next decade, drew a massive response from the oil industry and pulled in endorsements from political heavyweights such as former President Bill Clinton and Vice President Al Gore.

Both sides spent millions of dollars on their campaigns.
Hollywood producer Stephen Bing provided major funding in favor of the measure by pledging about $49 million to the campaign. Other backers include Google Inc. (GOOG

Energy companies calculated the impact of the potential new tax would range from 1.5% to 6%, depending on the price of oil. During its third-quarter earnings conference call, Chevron Chief Financial Officer Steve Crowe said the company could take a $200 million pretax hit on its annual earnings from the proposition.

Facelift? Nancy Pelosi‘s socialist political views are exactly what have kept her elected in San Francisco, along with the flow of union campaign money. The staunch “union supporter” Pelosi has even received the Cesar Chavez Award from the United Farm Workers Union. But her $25 million Napa vineyards and winery, she and her husband own are non-union shops. The extra profit she earns is more than she gets from labor unions. But I don’t think she wants the rank and file to know this. Do you?

The hypocrisy doesn’t stop there. Pelosi has received more money from the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees unions than any other member of Congress in recent election cycles.

The multi-millionaire investors own a large stake in an exclusive resort hotel in Wine Country, the Napa Valley Auberge Du Soleil Resort. It has more than 250 employees. But none of them are in a union, according to Peter Schweizer, author of “Do As I Say, (Not As I Do) – The Hypocrisy of Democrats” and a regular contributor to the New York Times.

Pelosi is also partners in a restaurant chain called Piatti, which has 900 employees. The chain is – you might have guessed — a non-union shop. It is a very high-end restaurant group with locations in Carmel, Sonoma and Danville to name just the locations I dined at. Hardwood-fired ovens, exhibition kitchens, Napa wines, a very nice experience. I did notice some Hispanic kitchen help and busboys. I’m wondering if they are illegal alliens? No, the Speaker of the House wouldn’t hire illegals, would she?

I’m sure The Chronicle’s Herb Caen gave Piatti a big plug every so often.
The 67-68 (?) year-old Pelosi has spent more money on facelifts, cosmetic enhancements, and Armani suits than every one of her union supporters combined, don’t you think?

I heard Chris Mathews of “Hardball” say “what a knockout Pelosi is, “I can’t wait to see her sitting behind President Bush at the next State of the Union speech.”
Mathews actually worked at the The Chronicle and Examiner in San Francisco before his show “Hard Ball” on MSNBC, and before that he was a ‘gofer’ and occasional writer for the Democrat Speaker of the House, Tip O’Neill.

I believe that Mathews wasn’t as kind to Kathryn Harris who is young enough to be Pelosi’s daughter and quite attractive without expensive plastic surgery. Continue reading

Sirhan Sirhan fired the first shots in our war with Islamic terrorism — 40 years ago

Mick Gregory

Did you rememeber reading any of this in your daily newspaper? The 40th anniversary of the assassination of Bobby Kennedy.

The war started in June 1968, when PLO terrorist Sirhan Sirhan — under direct orders from the mass murderer Yasser Arafat — assassinated U.S. Senator Robert F. Kennedy, who had just become the Democratic Presidential frontrunner with his victory in the California primary.

The CIA has Arafat’s voice on tape in which he personally ordered PLO terrorists to murder the Bobby Kennedy. Rashid Khalidi was the official spokesman for the PLO for several years.

Decades later, after a rewrite of history, Arafat and Democrat Jimmy Carter won the Nobel Peace Prize and Bill Ayers (who calls Sirhan Sirhan a political prisoner) helped Barack Obama run for Senate and now of course, the next President of the United States. Democrat followers apprantly don’t care to read history. Now we know that Obama has received help from the former PLO agent, Khalidi.

Rashid Khalidi  taught at universities in Lebanon until the mid-’80s, and some critics accuse him of having been a spokesman for the Palestine Liberation Organization. Mr. Khalidi has denied working for the group, and says he was consulted as an expert by reporters seeking to understand it.

Tom Friedman report for the New York Times, June 9, 1982:

The Israelis are out to “crush the P.L.O.,” said Rashid Khalidi, a director of the Palestinian press agency, Wafa.  He said they hope that by doing so, they will undermine the international recognition the P.L.O. has gained and eliminate its demands for an independent Palestinian state as a rallying point for Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Martin Kramer has more, here.

St. John Hunt has tapes of his father, E.H. Hunt on his deathbed saying the LBJ was behind JFK’s assassinatiion. This came out on the Glenn Beck show last week. The History Channel reported compelling accounts that also pointed to LBJ and his personal attorney with help of the CIA, two years ago.

Google it for yourself.

But that is old news. Let’s look at the past few days.

A United Airlines flight from Denver to Dallas was delayed two hours Tuesday after a passenger found box cutters in the seatback pocket in front of her.

That is according to Transportation Security Administration spokesman Darin Kayser.

United Flight 490 was taxiing on the runway at Denver International Airport at 12:30 p.m. when the box cutters were found.

“The passenger notified the flight attendant, who told the pilots, who called authorities,” said United spokesperson Megan Mccarthy.

She says the pilot aborted takeoff and returned to the gate.

Two tanker trucks explode and destroy major intersections in the nation’s No. 4 and No. 5 largest metro areas on the same weekend. It will take months to repair.

A few weeks ago, it was the mad foreign born Cho with a tatoo that said Ismael Axe on his arm, who killed 30 innocent Americans.

This week, it’s six foreign-born Muslims were arrested and accused Tuesday of plotting to attack the Army’s Fort Dix and massacre scores of U.S. soldiers, a plot the FBI says was foiled when the men took a video of themselves firing assault weapons to a store to have the footage put onto a DVD. It was first reported that the six were “home grown terrorists,” you will recall.

The plot to attack U.S. soldiers ended in darkness at a home in Cherry Hill, N.J., an affluent suburb of Philadelphia. Ringleaders of the terror cell with big plans and big egos were arrested as they tried to buy AK-47 and M-16 assault weapons from an FBI agent posing as an arms dealer.

Federal agents watched and listened to the six suspects for more than a year.

The defendants, all men in their 20s from the former Yugoslavia, Albanian Muslims, and the Middle East, include a pizza deliveryman suspected of using his job to scout out the military base.

The Clinton White House a UN war on the side of the ethnic Albanians in the late ’90s.

Three of the men are illegal aliens; the others are legal permanent residents, and one is a naturalized U.S. citizen, according to the FBI.

Their goal was “to kill as many American soldiers as possible” in attacks with mortars, rocket-propelled grenades and guns, prosecutors said.

“This is what law enforcement is supposed to do in the post-9/11 era — stay one step ahead of those who are attempting to cause harm to innocent American citizens,” U.S. Attorney Christopher Christie said.

In the wake of 9/11, more than 400,000 names have come under one form of government surveillance or another, from watch lists to wiretaps, reports CBS News chief investigative correspondent Armen Keteyian.

But only a handful of terrorists have been convicted in cases with concrete ties to al Qaeda, most notably “shoe bomber” Richard Reid and Iyman Faris, sent to bring down the Brooklyn Bridge.

Weiss saluted the unidentified New Jersey store clerk who noticed the suspicious video as the “unsung hero” of the case. “That’s why we’re here today — because of the courage and heroism of that individual,” the FBI agent said.

In addition to plotting the attack on Fort Dix, the defendants spoke of attacking a Navy installation in Philadelphia during the annual Army-Navy football game, and conducted surveillance at other military installations in the region, prosecutors said.

One defendant, Eljvir Duka, was recorded as saying: “In the end, when it comes to defending your religion, when someone is trying attacks your religion, your way of life, then you go jihad.”

San Francisco City Officials Condem Radio Talk Show Host Michael Savage

Mick Gregory

Michael Savage will be the poster child for the “Fariness Doctrin.”

Bay Area illegal immigrant advocates say radio host Michael Savage should be fired for using hate speech when suggesting supporters of an illegal immigration reform bill who fasted in San Francisco’s Civic Center Plaza last week should continue their fast and starve to death.

During a July 5 broadcast of “The Savage Nation,” his nationally syndicated talk show, Savage said, “I would say let them fast till they starve to death … because then we won’t have a problem about giving them green cards because they’re illegal aliens.”

Muslim clerics practice dry run — bomb making materials testing security. Huge explosions rock Dallas

Mick Gregory

UPDATE:

Several explosions and a large fire rocked an industrial company near downtown Dallas this morning.

Remember Ahmadinejad boasting that this was going to be a long “hot” summer, especially for the enemies of Islam?

The scene was located near the I-30 and I-35 interchange near Downtown. Both highways and many other roads in the area were closed. Traffic was backed up for miles in several directions.

Several tanks of material believed to be acetylene fuel could be seen exploding and throwing large pieces of shrapnel throughout the area. Acetylene is used in welding.

This federal report has been scubbed of any mintion of Islamic terrorists. That makes me wonder how much was left out of this alert.

U.S. airport security officers have been alerted by federal officials to look out for terrorists practicing to carry explosive components onto aircraft, based on four curious seizures at airports since last September.

The alert was distributed on July 20 by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to federal air marshals, its own transportation security officers and other law enforcement agencies.

The seizures at airports in San Diego, Milwaukee, Houston and Baltimore included “wires, switches, pipes or tubes, cell phone components and dense clay-like substances,” including block cheese, the bulletin said. “The unusual nature and increase in number of these improvised items raise concern.”

The bulletin said the a joint FBI-Homeland Security Department assessment found that terrorists have conducted probes, dry runs and dress rehearsals in advance of previous attacks.

Security officers were urged to keep an eye out for “ordinary items that look like improvised explosive device components.”

The 13-paragraph bulletin was posted on the Internet by NBC Nightly News, which first reported the story.

A federal official familiar with the document confirmed the authenticity of the NBC posting but declined to be identified by name because it has not been officially released.

It cited various types of rehearsals conducted by terrorists before the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon; the July 7, 2005, London subway bombings; the Aug. 2, 2006, London-based plot to blow up trans-Atlantic flights using liquid explosives and the 1994 Bojinka plot in the Philippines to blow up multiple airliners over the Pacific Ocean.

The bulletin said the passengers carrying the suspicious items seized since September included men and women and that initial investigation had not linked them with criminal or terrorist organizations. But it added that most of their explanations for carrying the items were suspicious and some were still under investigation.

The four seizures were described this way:

—San Diego, July 7. A U.S. person—either a citizen or a foreigner legally here—checked baggage containing two ice packs covered in duct tape. The ice packs had clay inside them rather than the normal blue gel.

—Milwaukee, June 4. A U.S. person’s carryon baggage contained wire coil wrapped around a possible initiator, an electrical switch, batteries, three tubes and two blocks of cheese. The bulletin said block cheese has a consistency similar to some explosives.

—Houston, Nov. 8, 2006. A U.S. person’s checked baggage contained a plastic bag with a 9-volt battery, wires, a block of brown clay-like minerals and pipes.

—Baltimore, Sept. 16, 2006. A couple’s checked baggage contained a plastic bag with a block of processed cheese taped to another plastic bag holding a cellular phone charger.

—Six Muslim “scholars” returning from a conference in Minneapolis of the North American Imams Federation were removed from US Airways Flight 300 bound to Phoenix. Passengers on the flight raised concerns with the flight crew when the 3 of the Imams stood up on the plane and said their normal evening prayers. And we are supposed to take your word for this? Standard custom getting on to a plane is to find your seat and fasten your seat belt.

Too bad we didn’t arrest the Islamic terrorists acting suspicious on dry runs in the months running up to 9/11.

A large cache of automatic weapons and grenade launcher found in an apartment of a Middle Eastern man near the Dallas Federal Building

By Mick Gregory

I didn’t see this reported in my Houston Chronicle this morning.
When the Democrats ban weapons, only terrorists will have the submachine guns and grenade launchers.

A large cache of weapons and ammunition, including 2 AK-47 rifles, an Uzi 9 millimeter submachine gun, a TEC-9 submachine gun, a rocket propelled grenade launcher, and several hundred rounds of ammunition were found in an apartment in the 300 block of North Akard Street in Dallas, Texas today by a maintenance worker. The maintenance worker entered the rented apartment to perform plumbing work for the resident and found the weapons cache, immediately notifying authorities.

According to a federal source, the apartment is rented by a Palestinian or Middle Eastern male who is known to make frequent trips to the Middle East. He recently returned to Dallas today after a trip to the Middle East, according to authorities. Officials from the FBI, Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives, and the JTTF are currently investigating. The location of the apartment where the weapons were found is located near the federal building in Dallas.

How come my wife can’t even pack a full bottle of shampoo? This man who makes frequent flights to the Middle East was able to compile this military cache of weapons?

This was a tip brought to me by the delligent Taxpayingvet from the Northeast Intelligence Network. Google the network for continuous updates.

Red flags warn of something big this month, maybe on 7-7-7

Mick Gregory

I’d like to see some prominant people of the religion of peace do something about these sick killers following their ancient religion. It’s a religion that treats women like animals and condones killing those who believe in another God. We are beyond the point of the good Muslims speaking out against terrorism. They had better step up and do something about it.

Watch for the red flags.

The online chatter is spiking.

If something spectacular happens this month, and the good Muslims say nothing about what they heard. There will be blood on their hands.

In fact, Homeland Security, watch the number of Muslims leaving the U.S. for a long vacation when it’s 114 degrees in the Middle East.

“The world is on the brink of World War III and those Muslims who have sat on your frickin’ hands the whole time and have not been marching in the streets, will face dire consequences,” said Glenn Beck, the nation’s No. 2 rated talk show host.

Rich Lowery Nails the Democrats’ attack on talk radio, especially Rush Limbaugh.

Rush Limbaugh, the conservative talk-radio pioneer, has been called many nasty things before, but never a “structural imbalance.” That’s the fancy term a liberal think tank uses to characterize his success — and to dress up its proposal for counteracting that success through new government regulation.

The report of the Center for American Progress on “The Structural Imbalance of Political Talk Radio” marks the latest phase in liberaldom’s grappling with conservative talk radio. First came the attempts to create a liberal Rush Limbaugh — Mario Cuomo, Jim Hightower, et al. — that fell flat. Then an entire left-wing network, Air America, was founded, and foundered. So there’s only one option left — if you can’t beat them, and you won’t join them, you can agitate for government to regulate them.

Chris Wallace of FOX News finds Dianne Feinstein is in favor of “the fairness doctrin” — there is an assult on the First Ammendment by Boxer, Hillary Clinton, Di Fi and other Democrat Senators

Mick Gregory

Isn’t it ironic that in the land of the free, the Democrats have got to stifle free speech to hold on to power?

The same week that an MSNBC survey found 90 percent of journalists contribute to Democrats; and the BBC’s own study found it’s news to be biased toward left-wing causes, we find that powerful Democrat Senators are trying to build up the votes to bring back the so called “fairness doctrine” a hypocritical law that was exposed and stopped during Ronald Reagan’s first term.

Here is Chris Wallace of FOX digging into the fairness doctrine’s revival.

Oklahoma Senator Inhofe says that he overheard Barbara Boxer and Hillary Clinton three years ago complaining about talk radio and saying that there should be a legislative fix. Both of them deny it ever happened.

But let me ask you about yourself. Do you have a problem with talk radio, and would you consider reviving the fairness doctrine, which would require broadcasters to put on opposing points of view?

FEINSTEIN: Well, in my view, talk radio tends to be one-sided. It also tends to be dwelling in hyperbole. It’s explosive. It pushes people to, I think, extreme views without a lot of information.

This is a very complicated bill. It’s seven titles. Most people don’t know what’s in this bill. Therefore, to just have one or two things dramatized and taken out of context, such as the word amnesty — we have a silent amnesty right now, but nobody goes into that. Nobody goes into the flaws of our broken system.

This bill fixes those flaws. Do I think there should be an opportunity on talk radio to present that point of view? Yes, I do, particularly about the critical issues of the day.

WALLACE: So would you revive the fairness doctrine?

FEINSTEIN: Well, I’m looking at it, as a matter of fact, Chris, because I think there ought to be an opportunity to present the other side. And unfortunately, talk radio is overwhelmingly one way.

WALLACE: But the argument would be it’s the marketplace, and if liberals want to put on their own talk radio, they can put it on. At this point, they don’t seem to be able to find much of a market.

FEINSTEIN: Well, apparently, there have been problems. It is growing. But I do believe in fairness. I remember when there was a fairness doctrine, and I think there was much more serious correct reporting to people.

WALLACE: Let me move on to the underlying issue, which is immigration.

Senator Feinstein, Democrats are going to bring back immigration reform this next week. Where does it stand now, and what are the chances that you’re actually going to pass something?

FEINSTEIN: Right, right. Tuesday there will be a cloture vote on the motion to proceed. It will ripen on Thursday. We’ll see if between the two parties we have 60 votes.

Both Senator Lott and I are on the same side with respect to this. And I’m hopeful that we will.

Let’s enjoy these times of government transparancy due to talk radio and blogs.

Stop the Press Club–Please!

Mick Gregory

Dallas Press Club slashes expenses, gives up rental space. This, in a one newspaper town.

This is the state of the press in 2007.

I was once a member of the Dallas Press Club, in my twenties. That’s when Dallas had a newspaper war going on between Times Mirror’s Dallas Times Herald and the Belo Dallas Morning News. Molly Ivans would make an appearance at meetings as well as U.S. Senators and celebrities.

Today, it’s on par with a Salvation Army drop off store front.

The active members of the Press Club of Dallas are trying to save their disgraced group after the former president apparently falsified the results of the club’s signature awards program and mismanaged her club-issued credit card on luxury items.

Four vacant board seats were filled — some by spirit-of-the-moment volunteers — with hopeful members stepping up to keep the club running.

Tom Stewart, now the club president, said the future of the annual Katie Awards and the club itself remains uncertain. The group was given three choices: Let the club slowly die, disband it immediately or drastically reduce expenses to buy time until the annual meeting in August.

Of the $5,500 a month it takes to operate the club, they voted to eliminate at least $4,000 in monthly operating expenses, including its rental space at the Women’s Museum in Fair Park. The Press Club Foundation, which supports the club and benefits from the Katies program, terminated its $4,000-a-month stipend to the club in February.

In an April 14 interview with the Dallas Business Journal, former club president Lisa “Elizabeth” Albanese, 41, said she didn’t have records detailing the judges from past-years’ Katies because she failed to keep the records and switched computers. She then said she would be able to reconstruct a judges’ list.

She couldn’t be reached for comment by a Dallas Business Journal reporter.

Albanese won all four Katies for which she was nominated in 2006, including for best business news story, best business feature story, best specialty reporting and best investigative reporting for a major-market newspaper. She won 10 Katies over the last four years, and began coordinating the judging in 2003.

No former boss of Albanese’s has alleged that she plagiarized or fabricated sources for her stories.

The Katie Awards rank among the most coveted in Texas, drawing contestants from six states who hope to be honored as the best in journalism and mass communications.

Albanese spent seven years at The Bond Buyer, a New York-based municipal bond newspaper, and recently became a vice president at First Southwest Co., a financial advisory firm, which she often wrote about as a journalist. She was fired by Dallas-based First Southwest after criminal allegations from her past surfaced.

John ‘Good Hair’ Edwards spends $400 at the Beverly Hills Salon Bill Clinton Used

Mick Gregory

The metro-sexual candidate.
Now isn’t this sweet. But first, ask yourself why the LA Times or SF Chronicle didn’t report this?

John Edwards’ campaign ‘war chest’ for president spent $400 on February 20, and another $400 on March 7, at a top Beverly Hills men’s stylist, Torrenueva Hair Designs.

The expensive haircut is, of course, a perennial. Bill Clinton got zinged for getting a cut from Cristophe, and Hillary was found at one point to have buried a stylist on her campaign payroll.

Only Edwards, however, has had the care he takes with his hair memorialized on YouTube.

Edwards’ campaign also spent money at two spas: Designworks Salon in Dubuque, and Pink Sapphire in Manchester.

“Let them go to Super Cuts!”

300 Is the perfect drama for red state vs. blue state, George Bush vs. Harry Reid

By Mick Gregory

Update: “300” comes out on DVD on July 31.

This year’s No. 1 movie, “300” has a strong “free people vs. tyrannical evil,” “Red State vs. Blue State” message. The Spartans even wear red. The Persians are a decadent society of perversion run by a “kind,” homosexual, god-like king, Xerxes, with plans to impose his ways on the world. His followers are from the lands that are now Iran, Iraq, and Egypt; the Persian army wears Muslim garb, and treat women as second class citizens. Xerxes crushed every city-state his massive army of slaves faced and had the Greek lands next on the plan before invading Europa.

Sparta’s congress was divided with the corrupt, pacifist, traitors in control. I see some direct parallels. The pacifists are refusing to defend Sparta or Athens and back their brave king and his 300. Aren’t there about 300 Republicans in Congress? The similarities with today’s Democrat-controlled congress are astounding.

The queen Sparta is strong, outspoken and beautiful, much like Ann Coulter. The movie is a must-see for Americans. You know that liberals do not want “300’s” message to become “popular” — the need to take a stand and fight your enemies before they are at your gate, no matter what the odds.

Ted Kennedy is shoe-in for the fat lobster claw monster. Oboma could get the part of the messenger asking for “earth and water” and submission, who gets kicked into a bottomless pit by Unites (United States, of course) as he yells “This is Sparta!” I can imagine red staters shouting “This is America!”

A Hillary look-alike plays the part of a fat, disfigured lesbian in the court of Xerxes.

There are powerful, old corrupt puppet masters who look a lot like George Soros, Jimmy Carter, John Kerry, Robert Byrd and Bill Clinton. The king has to go to them for advice. You can guess, they are paid off.

Frank Miller wrote and illustrated this story years ago. It’s shocking how accurate it is to today’s political actions with the Democrats trying to strand America and submit to the massive Islamic blood thristy slaves.

In historic writings, the Persians had expanded from modern Iran, Iraq, conquering Babylon and Egypt, at this time set its sights on the West, seeing in the Greeks an easy conquest. But their gamble, like that of Saddam’s kingdom, ended with a ruined state and failed leader. While the Persian emperor Xerxes watched from his throne atop the hill of Egaleo, the Greek general Themistocles shattered the Persian fleet while the 300 killed an estimated 100,000 — 200,000 Persians before they entered Greece.

Greater battles, have been fought; but the battles against the Persians live immortal not in the historical records of nations only, but also of science and of art, and of the noble and the moral. For these are world-historical victories; they were the salvation of culture and spiritual vigor, and they rendered the Asiatic principle powerless. …

The interest of the World’s History hung trembling in the balance. Asian-Arab despotism — a world united under one lord and sovereign — on the one side, and separate free states — insignificant in extent and resources, but animated by freedom and individuality — on the other side, stood front to front in array of battle. Never in History has the superiority of spiritual power over material bulk — and that of no contemptible amount — been made so gloriously manifest.

Aeschylus’ “The Persians” shows Xerxes returned to Persia, wrestling with the consequences of his failure, lamenting that “I was born / To crush, to desolate my ruined country.”
—Dr. Hegel

So what the progressive bible, “Slate” contributor Dana Stevens think?

Here are just a few of the categories that are not-so-vaguely conflated with the “bad” (i.e., Persian) side in the movie: black people. Brown people. Disfigured people. Gay men (not gay in the buff, homoerotic Spartan fashion, but in the effeminate Persian style). Lesbians. Disfigured lesbians. Ten-foot-tall giants with filed teeth and lobster claws. Elephants and rhinos (filthy creatures both). The Persian commander, the god-king Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) is a towering, bald club fag with facial piercings, kohl-rimmed eyes, and a disturbing predilection for making people kneel before him.

Thanks again Slate. I’ve learned that when a book or movie is panned by Slate, it must break away from the progressive liberal mind-numbing PC claptrap, i.e., Michael Crichton’s “State of Fear,” Mel Gibson’s “Apocolypto,” and now “300.”

Senator Tim Johnson ‘responds’ to wife

Mick Gregory

Democrat Senator Tim Johnson remains in a coma. He “is recovering as expected,” said Dr. Anthony Caputy of George Washington University Hospital. “We anticipate no further tests or procedures. . . through the holidays,” said Dr. Vivek Deshmukh, a neurosurgeon. Mrs. Johnson reports that he responds to her. No details were given on what kind of reaction she meant.

His colleagues, especially Harry Reid are optimistic he’ll be able to return to work, when Democrats take control of the Senate (on paper) the 110th Congress convenes Jan. 4th, but how will Senator Johnson vote for Harry Reid for Senate leader?

Oh yes. Maybe by video, he can blink twice for a “Yes” vote on more taxes and blink once for a “No” vote on funding for American troops in Iran.

I wonder if Mr. Johnson wants to die in dignity like Mr. Shrivo thought Terri Shrivo wanted? Has a reporter asked if he has said or written anything about that? How about his view of the Terri Shrivo case?

I remember seeing video of Terri responding and smiling with family members. Will we see any video of Mr. Johnson before the Senate meets on Jan. 4th?

Why isn’t your mainstream media writing about this?

Thursday afternoon meetings are nothing to look forward to at newspapers these days

Washington Post Newsroom Nervous
Mick Gregory

As Washington Post reporters prepared themselves for their all-hands meeting earlier this week with executive editor Leonard Downie, they used five or six words to describe the mood of the newsroom — Harry Jaffe reports:

Anxious.
Depressed.
Restless.
Worried.
Angry.
#&!#!.
Arrogant.

angel-of-death.jpg

A month ago Downie issued a memo saying the Post would have to “shrink the newsroom staff” and “renovate sections” and tighten the news hole. Translation: fewer reporters writing shorter stories at different assignments.
Then earlier this week New York Times media writer David Carr, in a column about Washington Post Company head Don Graham, said, “Newsroom layoffs of an unspecified number are in the offing.”

Also this week, mulit-billionaire David Geffen has offered $2 billion to the Tribune company for the LA Times. (Hint to Tribune, this is a very rich guy who can affford to pay $4 billion for the LA Times. Hold out a little, then sell). Come on, YouTube went for $1.6 billion, and that is about 1,000 lawsuits waiting to happen.

Updated 12/15/06, Drudgereport: Trib management tell Geffen you need at least $1 billion more. OK, that would be great. Maybe the Chandlers would be happy with that, but then they’d have to watch the Hollywood elite make a mockery of their once glorious “Fourth Estate.”

In Philly: Inquiering minds want to know

“The Inquirer newsroom is bracing for the possible layoff of up to 20 percent of its approximately 410 reporters, editors and support staff.” That was a “ballpark” number.

Managing editor Anne Gordon had earlier reported that the editorial department had been asked to plan for “up to 150 layoffs,” which is considerably more than 20 percent.

Publisher and co-owner of the newspapers Brian P. Tierney said the number of layoffs would be something less than 150, depending on what kind of concessions they could get out of contract negotiations with the Guild.

Meanwhile, the arrogant former LA Times executive editor Mr. Baquet, (who refused to respond to shareholder and senior management requests to make budget cuts) says “I won’t speculate on the future.”

Mr. Baquet,

Why not? You are unemployed? Do you really think Geffen will give you back your cushy executive editor position in LA? (Even the the Chandler family wants more money, they don’t want their former empire thrown to Hollywood whores).

Why not prop your Cole Haan shoes on top of a desk in Santa Barbara? Imagine the gravitus you would bring! The publisher, McCaw will not return your phone calls? Why not go back to the New York Times?

Oh, Keller said they don’t have any openings right now for top executive editors.

Call Gannett, but first, brush up on the Web/newspaper transition. How are you on HTML? You really don’t understand business, free markets and economics 101. How about a few courses at the University of Phoenix? Oh, they won’t give you any credit for gravitus? And the pay is a bit below the standards you have grown to enjoy. Too bad.

How about your friends in high places in the Democrat party? Remember all the insider conversations. How about the time you published U.S. classified details about the legal and effective Swift counterterror program? That earned you some points with Pelosi, Boxer and Feinstein, didn’t it? Oppsie, they aren’t returning your calls either?

Arrogant: overbearing self-worth or self-importance, example: newspaper executive editors.

Mourning in America

“It’s time for a change of direction in Iraq,” Harry Reid said this morning.

What direction? What’s your plan?

Wasn’t it the same Democrats who blamed George H.W. Bush for not invading Iraq in 1988?

Kerry can throw his insults around and be Hillary’s running mate. Osama bin Laden is happy. So is Saddam and Howie Dean.

While getting some coffee at Micky D’s in Houston, I overheard three old timers talking about the election results. “This country is in for trouble. We are in for some serious trouble, that’s for sure said one guy about 65 years old. His friend who was about 85, said “I can’t believe we have so many stupid people who would vote for Democrats. They are stupid… rocks or worse for brains.” That’s for sure.”

The silver lining… We will see the Democrat/Socialist agenda as they drop their guard and gloat. Independents and the big middle will realize that Republicans are the party for lower taxes, free enterprise, home ownership, and the war against Islamo-fascists.

Wait until you get a good look at Nancy Pelosi and her ideas.

Even if the Senate is taken over by the liberals/socialists, Lieberman will vote with Republicans when it counts on the war against terrorists.

November surprise, Sequoia/Smartmatic voting machines

Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez “won” an historic 2004 recall referendum on his presidency. The former military coup-plotter supposedly got the backing of 57.8% of the electorate, with only 42.2% against him. But the reality, say observers, is the opposite: By tampering with electronic voting machines, Yes-votes for recalling Chavez got turned into No-votes allowing him to stay in power.

The machines themselves were supplied and programmed by Chavez insiders at a heavy cost to the Venezuelan state. Tellingly, they are not even voting machines. Produced by Italy’s Olivetti for use as lottery terminals, they were sold to a shady government-connected outfit called Smartmatic who doubled the price and immediately resold them to the Venezuelan taxpayers for use in the recall referendum.

This was Smartmatic’s first-ever involvement in electronic election machines. At the time of the deal, the company’s largest shareholder was the Chavez government itself. No outside auditing of the election software has so far been effectively concluded.

By Johan Freitas, in Caracas

Today we know that Smartmatic is owned by Antonio Mujica a Venezuelan and in Hugo Chavez’s inner circle. Just days before the US mid-term elections, we find that Smartmatic voting machines are in place in several states.

Not to worry, Mujica indicated that the machines’ software is certified by three distinct groups at his company.

Now we know there are a dozen “Smartcards” missing in Democrat districts in Tennessee. Smartcards are easily reprogrammed with off the shelf equipment.

It’s Like Deja Vu All Over Again for Kerry/Dem’s

Mick Gregory

Wouldn’t you know it. Things a liberal elitist politician said when first running for office and exploiting his limited military experience, come back to haunt him, like a FrankenKerry monster.

In 1972, as Kerry ran for the House, he was less apologetic in his comments about the merits of a volunteer army. He declared in the questionnaire that he opposed the draft but considered a volunteer army “a greater anathema.”
“I am convinced a volunteer army would be an army of the poor and the black and the brown,” Kerry wrote. “We must not repeat the travesty of the inequities present during Vietnam. I also fear having a professional army that views the perpetuation of war crimes as simply ‘doing its job.’

Kerry fans and liberal Dems: Ralph Nader said: “Kerry agrees with Bush on the invasion of Iraq, and with the Patriot Act.”

So what will Kerry say tomorrow?
