What’s the difference between a hockey mom and a pitbull? Lipstick — Sarah Palin

I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a “community organizer,” except that you have actual responsibilities. I might add that in small towns, we don’t quite know what to make of a candidate who lavishes praise on working people when they are listening, and then talks about how bitterly they cling to their religion and guns when those people aren’t listening.

We tend to prefer candidates who don’t talk about us one way in Scranton and another way in San Francisco.

I fought to bring about the largest private-sector infrastructure project in North American history.

And when that deal was struck, we began a nearly forty billion dollar natural gas pipeline to help lead America to energy independence.

That pipeline, when the last section is laid and its valves are opened, will lead America one step farther away from dependence on dangerous foreign powers that do not have our interests at heart.

The stakes for our nation could not be higher.

When a hurricane strikes in the Gulf of Mexico, this country should not be so dependent on imported oil that we are forced to draw from our Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

And families cannot throw away more and more of their paychecks on gas and heating oil.

With Russia wanting to control a vital pipeline in the Caucasus, and to divide and intimidate our European allies by using energy as a weapon, we cannot leave ourselves at the mercy of foreign suppliers.

“That luxury jet was over the top. I put it on eBay.”

“…we Americans need to produce more of our own oil and gas. And take it from a gal who knows the North Slope of Alaska: we’ve got lots of both.”

“But listening to (Barack Obama) speak, it’s easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform – not even in the state senate.”

“This is a man who can give an entire speech about the wars America is fighting, and never use the word “victory” except when he’s talking about his own campaign.”

What is a “community organizer” in Chicago anyway? They are unemployed lawyers getting grants to line their pockets and promote European socialism. In fact, Barack Obama was a leader in ACORN. Obama has had a long-term association with the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (Acorn), the largest radical socialist group in America. Why didn’t he tell us?

Obama’s “tax cuts” are actually payoffs.

Obama claims to offer a tax cut to moderate-income families, but a significant portion of Mr. Obama’s tax plan is a welfare giveaway costing more than $648 billion over 10 years, according to the Tax Policy Center.

How so? He would authorize a hodgepodge of refundable tax credits covering everything from education, mortgage payments, child care and other items for people who do not pay income taxes now.

About 38% of U.S. households pay no income tax today. Under a President Obama (whose policies would shave 15.3 million households off the tax rolls) that share would grow to nearly half of all American households.

  1. As a working mom, I was very excited by Palin and watched her entire speech.

How dissapointing. Yes she is a good pitbull, but nothing more.

She was eloquent and delivered the speech well. But saying lines like “he’s my guy” doesn’t make anyone more believable, just means you have a good speech writer. Where is the authenticity?

C’mon ladies, we can do better.

  2. I think Palin is just great.

And what’s wrong with having a good speech writer and being eloquent? I guess I don’t get that criticism. I’m sure she’ll loosen up in time — this is a pretty new situation. But if she presents the points well, and backs up the speech points with a history of actually doing what she says she believes, I’m happy.

  3. As an outsider to your country – may I ask – what?????? – just how much sleaze and ineptitude does it take?
Your present administration has laughed smugly at your expense for 8 years. No amount of blatant corruption, disasterous war, economic mismanagement seems to even provoke serious questions?
You really think your new Pitbull is going to do anything other than consolidate that? A new snout at the helm will make all the difference huh?
    Good luck with that.
PS Bush was going to end corruption in Washington, whatever happened to that?

  4. Davis Hearn,

Where do you call home? America has been fighting off Big Brother/Big Sis socialism for the past 70 years. If Obama wins the fight is over. The entire government will be run by the Democrats (socialists). There are still enough educated Americans to hold them off for another four to eight years. With Sarah Palin the odds have shifted back in favor of the Republicans.

  5. i think she will come in like a pit bulldog and hopefully clean up the mess in washington that we are supposed to trust??? corrupt government, police, hospitals, what else??

  8. Democrat Party hack’s 20-year-0ld son involved in Palin data e-mail burglary.

NASHVILLE – State Rep. Mike Kernel – Democrat – said today that he was aware of Internet rumors about his son being the subject of speculation that he accessed the personal e-mail of vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

Asked whether he or his son, a student at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, had been contacted by authorities investigating the break-in of Palin’s account, he responded:

    “Me, no.”

As far as his 20-year-old son, David, he said: “I can’t say. That doesn’t mean he has or hasn’t (been contacted by investigators).”

Kernell, D-Memphis, cited the father-son relationship.

He said he had talked to his son today, but that he talks to his son regularly.
